The 2011 Educational Conference and AGM for LPNs and other health professionals across the province was a great success. Thank you to all those who helped to organize the event and to all the attendees!

Mark your calendars! The LPNABC is pleased to present their 2011 Educational Conference and AGM for LPNs and other health professionals across the province. This event will be Monday April 11, 2011 in Coquitlam.

There will be two exciting speakers presenting this year; Bruce Gamage and Sally Thorne.

Sally Thorne, RN, PhD, FCAHS,  is a Professor and Director of UBC School of Nursing, Editor of Nursing Inquiry and chair of BC Nurse Educators Council. Sally will be discussing “Perspectives on Current and Future Collaborations in Nursing”

Bruce Gamage has a back ground in both critical care nursing and microbiology. He attended the University of British Columbia where he earned a Bachelor of Science (Micb.) in 1984 and a Bachelor of Nursing in 1989. He worked on the Leukemia/Bone Marrow Transplant ward at Vancouver General Hospital for 7 years before moving into a position as an Infection Control Nurse at the University of BC Hospital and Vancouver General Hospital in 1996. In 2000 he moved to a position as Provincial Infection Control Consultant at the BC Centre for Disease Control. Bruce is currently Manager of the Provincial Infection Control Network of BC. Bruce will be presenting “Infection Prevention and Control : How to build best practices into your practice”
