Carol Peters, LPN

Carol Peters, LPN

Indigenous Director
Term: 2018-2021

About me: My name is Carol Peters and I have been an LPN in BC since 2008. I have worked most of my career so far in community nursing such as correctional nursing, public health, and currently home health. I was lucky enough at the time to maintain casual status in different areas of acute floors such as medical, surgical, emergency, and path.

I have spent a short time working as LPN Supervisor in Assisted living and working in some private sectors but my passion is working as a community nurse. I have also just completed my mentorship course to learn how to better teach new hires into community nursing. I was born in Ontario and moved to Vancouver when I was 2 years old.

I am registered to Algonquins of Pikwakanagan in Ontario on my mother’s side. My father is from Six Nations in Ontario. I am a second generation survivor of the “Sixties Scoop” that occurred in Canada during the 1960s-1980s. I have three wonderful children two of whom are grown up. My values and beliefs are in fairness and equality across all walks of life.

I am honored to be Indigenous Director and be able to serve in this new role for all Indigenous LPNs in LPNABC.
