On May 23, 2012 – LPNABC Executive presented a resolution at the CLPNBC AGM

The Association has been formally requested to submit a complete financial report to be reviewed by the CLPNBC Board of Directors.  The intent is to inform the board of the current and future plans of the Association.  The College is then to consider the report and pass a motion to be the agent for LPNABC and ensure all LPNs are members of their Association.  The newly established Association of Registered Nurses of B.C. (ARNBC) and CRNBC have  the same proposal on behalf of all Registered Nurses.

In our presentation on May 23rd, 2012 at the CLPNBC AGM, we made it very clear that the Association not ask for the current membership dues $30 amount.  In fact we reviewed the needs of the Association and proposed 5% of the current CLPNBC full registration = $11.80 to be remitted to LPNABC.  This represents the amount that was increased by the college in 2012.  The college has reported a steady profit for the last 10 years, has strong investments over $3 million in simple interest bearing accounts.  (as per AGM Financial Reports).

The Association wants to rebuild all committees, incorporate Regional representation throughout the Province with adhoc involvement and ensure a strong voice on behalf of LPNs in BC.  We also have been working diligently on reorganizing, rebuilding both provincially and nationally.  We have been gaining renewed recognition by the Ministry of Health, CNO Council, CAPNE, PN Articulation, CCPNR, RPNAO, LPN (PEI) and Canadian Nurses Association.

Please support this proposal by contacting the CLPNBC Board and voicing your support.
